Road closures for The Cardiff Triathlon

Cardiff’s summer of events continues this weekend with The Cardiff Triathlon returning to Cardiff Bay on Sunday 25 June.
The sold out event, which is the fourth to be held in Cardiff will feature 1,400 competitors battling it out in the Super Sprint, Sprint and Olympic distances in races on closed roads. For the safety of the competitors, roads in the Bay will need to be closed from 6.30am, with the final road closures being lifted at 1.30pm.
The following roads will be closed from 6.30am until 11.30am: 

  • East Tyndall Street (junction with Schooner Way to the junction with Herbert Street and Lloyd George Avenue).
  • Lloyd George Avenue (junction with Herbert Street to the junction with Bute Place).
  • Bute Place (junction with Lloyd George Avenue to the junction with Pierhead Street).
  • James Street, Clarence Road, Avondale Road and Ferry Road.
  • International Drive to the junction with Olympian Way.
  • Olympian Way, Watkiss Way and left onto Dunleavy Drive from the junction with Watkiss Way to the junction with Dunleavy Drive Retail Park.

    The following roads will closed from 6.30am and will re-open at approximately 1.30pm:
  • East Tyndall Street (junction with Schooner Way to the junction with Herbert Street and Lloyd George Avenue).
  • Lloyd George Avenue (junction with Herbert Street to the junction with Bute Place).
  • Bute Place (junction with Lloyd George Avenue to the junction with Pierhead Street).
  • James Street, Clarence Road, Avondale Road and Ferry Road to its junction with Clive Street.
