Water Safety Code

Water Safety Code

The Cardiff Harbour Authority Water Safety Code is designed to promote safety in the Bay and its rivers. We want you to enjoy your experience around the water’s edge, so please follow the code.

The main principles are:

  • Swimming is NOT permitted in the Bay or rivers (due to its dangerous depth and currents)
  • If you see anyone in difficulty, dial 999 and ask for the emergency services
  • Do not throw rubbish or stones in the water
  • Always wear boots or shoes on the riverbanks and on the foreshore
