Cardiff Harbour Authority (CHA) has been named as a finalist at the Arts & Business Cymru Awards, alongside the Port of Milford Haven and Theatr na nÓg, for their water safety work.
Shortlisted in the Arts, Business & Environment category, the Would You Jump? project saw Theatr na nÓg go into Cardiff schools to perform a powerful, hard-hitting play, highlighting the dangers of tombstoning and swimming in prohibited areas. A public performance also featured as part of last year’s International Food & Drink Festival in Cardiff Bay.
Plans are in place for the project to continue this year, with further schools in the Cardiff area being targeted.
Would You Jump? forms part of CHA’s ongoing commitment to water safety in the Bay, which includes on-the-water patrols with Police Community Support Officers, public safety notices, and digital communication.
