Transport For Wales Rail Services run a regular service between Cardiff Queen Street station in the city centre and Cardiff Bay station.


The baycar (service 6) operates a frequent, fast and direct service between the city centre and Cardiff Bay seven days a week. Main city centre bus stops include Queen Street Station, Westgate Street, St Mary Street (Wyndham Arcade) and the rear of Central Rail Station. Services 7 and 8 also run from Cardiff city centre to Cardiff Bay.

For the International Sports Village (ISV), take service 7, which runs between the city centre, the Bay and the ISV from Monday to Saturday. Hop on board from bus stop JF on Canal Street. Service 9 travels between the city centre and the ISV seven days a week from bus stop KF on Westgate Street.

Road Train

During the summer months, the road train operates hourly from the Inner Harbour to the Barrage, picking up passengers from Mermaid Quay and going through the historic port of Cardiff, with a full live commentary.
